I think Ryuken really loves Uryu a lot, but his ability to show emotion has been beaten out of him after losing everyone he loves to either Yhwach or the soul reapers (specifically Mayuri). To Uryu, it seems like his father is a heartless man.. Uryuu Ishida is a top student, master of sewing, and the last surviving Quincy fighting alongside Ichigo Kurosaki and friends. In Bleach, the importance of family is an inescapable them. Ichigo will risk his life to shield his younger sisters Karin and Yuzu from danger and later learns that his own father, Isshin Kurosaki, was once a Soul Reaper, too. Ichigo's good friend, Uryu Ishida, also has a magical parent, Ryuken Ishida.. In tybw it's made obvious by other quincies & yhwach himself they know all about soken ishida (uryus grandfather) but no one ever talks about his dad. Also yhwach proclaims uryu as the last living quincy of this world but that's untrue. Ashwalen killed all mixed quincies except ichigo way back when but as yhwach uses it later as the series goes on he starts taking powers from sterneitter.
