Redesignated as: 67 Fighter Squadron on 15 May 1942; 67 Fighter Squadron, Single Engine, on 20 Aug 1943; 67 Fighter Squadron, Two Engine, on 24 May 1944;,. The 67th Fighter Squadron, nicknamed the "Fighting Cocks," is a fighter squadron of the United States Air Force assigned to the 18th Operations Group of the 18th Wing at Kadena Air Base, Okinawa, Japan. Constituted as the 67th Pursuit Squadron (Interceptor) on 20 November 1940 and activated on 15 January 1941, it initially conducted replacement training before deploying for combat operations.
