According to the master wiring diagram, the pink resistor wire shares a pin with a red/green wire which is full 12v with switch on. That's the one I used and tested it for full 12v before I.. The ignition switch wiring diagram for the 1969 Ford F250 shows a lot of complicated circuitry. The diagram includes several components, including the starter relay, starter circuit breaker, generator output terminals, starter solenoid, stoplight switch, fuel pump relay, dimmer switch, and ballast resistor.
Pink wire from Ignition switch is the Resistor wire. You will find 3 to 5 V at your coil+ through this wire UNTIL you crank. (see foot note 1) Coil - goes into dist. cap and your points or Pertronix black wire. Tachometer Red goes to a 12V source, NOT the coil. Tachometer Black goes to Ground. Tachometer Green goes to Coil -. Foot notes.. Hey OAO. Older cars have resistor wiring in the ignition circuit. The wire from the ignition switch to the + terminal on the coil provides power when the car is running, and that wire is resistor wiring to reduce the amount of volts reaching the coil.I don't know if your '69 has that but you could probably tell in a jiffy if you have a manual that provides an overview of how the ignition.
