I'm guesstimating that the stock light outputs are about 10-15 watts each, totaling 20-30 watts. You may end up blowing a fuse and/or damaging the wiring. If you want to go with the full 45, you should run a separate circuit, 18 gauge wire would be fine, 16 would be extra insurance.. Look for the yellow wire with the white stripe in the passenger footwell. That is your dome light power wire. When the dome light comes on the door lights will come on. When dome light goes out door lights will go out. As long as they are LED's which they probably are you won't need a relay.

If you have extra LED strips, you could also wire them into the dome light, allowing them to come on with the dome light or when doors are open. If you are planning on wiring the foot well LED strips to the dome light, you will need to access the power source (black wire) connecting the dome light.. Couldn't figure out why my dome light wouldn't work on my 87 J10, until I found the brown/black wire going to the dome light was severed underneath the carpet. Problem is, I don't know how to rewire the severed end back into the harness by the fuse block.. Have you tried to read the wiring diagram? The diagrams will be in your TSM. Look at.
