Marine: Boating, Sailing, PWC, Nautical Navigational GPS - 1997 SeaDoo fuel system problems - I have a 97 SeaDoo GTI that was running great with no issues. Out riding one day and it starts acting like it's running out of gas. It'll run fine up to about 30 mph if you hold about 1/2 throttle or so but eventually starts. I have a 1997 Seadoo GTI. I think I have a problem in the jet drive. I can turn the drive shaft/impeller by hand. Re: 1997 seadoo Gti dies when you press the throttle Sounds like a fuel delivery problem. Air leaks anywhere into the motor will cause a lean condition. Tight cables cause a lean condition. Clogged fuel systems and pet**** valves and carbs cause a lean condition. L.S. Adjusters set too lean cause a lean condition at idle speeds.. I have a 1997 seadoo GTI and we have used it every summer since for countless hours. It currently has an issue that it kind of stalls after I hit a certain speed. Basically as I accelerate, the ski stops accelerating for a few seconds and then continues to accelerate, only to do the same thing a few seconds later.
