The engine includes the Pointless Electronic Ignition (PEI) system that eliminates the difficulty of adjusting the ignition timing.. Suzuki TM400, TM250. SUZUKI TM MOTOCROSS MODELS INTRODUCTION Joel Robert was Suzuki's first Motocross World Champion in 1970 winning the 250cc class and after this success Suzuki introduced a production motocrosser. The Suzuki TM400R was manufactured for the 1971 season and coincided with the signing of Roger DeCoster in October 1970.. Suzuki has built the competition-oriented TM400 from the ground up, and is the first Japanese manufacturer to take this approach with a large-bore dirt machine. That a marketingoriented Japanese manufacturer should do so will tell you something about the large number of racers and play-racers out "there."
