Hard to say when specifically the movies take place chronologically but I always assumed they take place near the end of the Season. I'd have to go through all 20 Seasons but Alola hasn't had a movie dedicated to them so basically you can ignore Movie#20, 21 and upcoming 22 that is "remaking" Movie#1. Currently raising: Want to raise Pokemon?. These two movies take place in an alternate timeline and are retellings of the Orginal Series and the Orange Islands, respectively. Despite airing alongside the Alola-based series, they have no bearing whatsoever on it. I base these through the Pokemon in the team including (Ash's friends at the time) in the movie and the moves they've used.
