I've had it in my mind for the longest time now to put something like this together, I've always wanted some sort of info display to show house metrics which could last weeks between charge. I love e-ink displays and always felt it was a natural fit, I finally got round to looking into how or what can be done from a few great examples and sources already done by the community and I am.. The e-ink display is powered by ESPHome, and it sources data from Home Assistant to display weather and train departure information. The two frames at the top contain printed information of emergency contacts as well as the wifi password for guests.
It's a ready made devkit with ESP32 running 4.7″ e-ink display and a 18650 battery holder. What's good in this devkit is that it's already 100% supported by ESPHome third party library, so the integration to home assistant is much simpler without the need to implement the core display functionality.. Setting up a sensor and weatherman for home assistant and a e-ink esp32 display First I want to thank Madelna and DeastinY for thier projects providing solid base for my project. This is a repo for my project for a more modular/drop in setup for a E-Ink Display dashboard This dashboard currently.
