Salomon QST 98 - 600$ Salomon QST 92 - 350$ Rossignol Black ops escaper - 390$ Blizzard Rustler 9 - 480$ At the end of the day, I'm strongly leaning towards QST 98s as they are better overall on and off piste, the cheaper price of QST 92s but I don't know how they perform on powder days. I'm mainly going to ski in Utah and Colorado trying to.. The QST 92 and QST 98 are both speaking to me. I am 6ft about 205lbs. Ski East every year and hit most of the mountain besides the heavy double blacks. Like groomers, tree runs and even some moguls. This has me leaning towards the 92 currently.. Right now I'm skiing on some beginner skis Salomon Stance 84's. I've looked at skis with.
If most skiing is in CO/UT, I'd go with 98 in 189. The new 92 is very similar to the 98, with improved stiffness underfoot. Both have plenty of tail rocker which make them fun and surfy. You lose a bit of effective length, so good to do head height or even a bit higher.. Blizzard Black Pearl 88 vs Salomon QST Lux 92.. The QST (Quest) range from Salomon has quietly (if you compare to some of Salomon's previous freeride incarnations), become a classic go-to ski for reliable all mountain and off-piste reliability. The 98 model sits in the middle of the range and offers the greatest versatility - arguably being one of the most versatile all mountain skis on the market.
